A new public pool facility for the city of Schenectady was constructed in Central Park. The facility included a pool house with changing areas and restrooms, a lifeguard office, storage, and a large welcome area with a ridge skylight. A zero-entry wading pool with fountains and a resistance walk as well as a lap pool were built behind the pool house. The pump house is situated next to the lap pool and is designed to match the pool house. The pool house and pump house make use of exposed structural steel, tongue and groove wood ceilings, brick and colorful phenolic wall panels. Lastly, a splash pad is located adjacent to the pool and is designed to suggest a babbling brook nestled among natural boulders.
